Meet our Team!
Beatrice Hauer FNP-C
Family Medicine
Beatrice Hauer, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner with 17 years of experience caring for patients of all ages. She practices family medicine with a special interest in preventive care, pediatrics, and women’s health. Beatrice earned her graduate degree from Texas Tech University and is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of settings, including critical care, emergency care, gynecological and obstetric care, and family practice. This diverse experience helps her approach patient care with a well-rounded clinical perspective.
She believes that good healthcare starts with listening. Beatrice takes time to get to know her patients, understand their concerns, and work together to create care plans that make sense for their lives. Her goal is for every patient to feel heard, supported, and genuinely cared for.
Beatrice loves working at the Jal Clinic, where she can be part of a close-knit community and provide personalized, patient-centered care.
Outside of the clinic, Beatrice enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
JAMES “JIM” GOOSS, FNP-C
Primary Care Provider | Family Medicine
Jal Hospital District
Jim Gooss, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Primary Care Provider at the Jal Clinic with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare. He brings a broad and well-rounded clinical background, having spent over two decades working in emergency and critical care medicine before transitioning to family medicine 10 years ago.
Jim completed his undergraduate education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and earned his graduate degree from Chamberlain University in Chicago, Illinois. He is board certified in Family Medicine through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
In his current practice, Jim focuses on comprehensive family medicine with special interests in diabetes management, cardiology, and orthopedics. His extensive emergency medicine background allows him to approach patient care with strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a calm, thoughtful presence—particularly when managing complex or chronic conditions.
Jim believes in patient-centered care built on trust, communication, and long-term relationships. He strives to ensure that patients feel heard, supported, and confident in their care, whether addressing preventive health needs or managing ongoing medical concerns.
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jim chose a career in healthcare early in life after discovering a passion for medical education, critical thinking, and helping patients through some of their most difficult moments. He joined Jal Hospital District 10 years ago and values the close-knit community, meaningful patient relationships, and the opportunity to provide continuity of care beyond the fast-paced environment of emergency medicine.
Jim is married to Brandy Gooss, who is also a Primary Care Provider at the Jal Clinic. Brandy was born and raised in Jal, New Mexico, and together they returned to her family ranch in 2004. They have four children and two grandchildren, whom they love deeply and are extremely proud of.
Samantha Gooss, FNP-C
board-certified Family Nurse
Samantha Gooss, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner providing comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages at the Jal Clinic. She completed her undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University and earned her Registered Nurse degree from New Mexico Junior College in 2012. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2013 and later completed her Master of Science in Nursing — Family Nurse Practitioner track — at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2017. Samantha has been board-certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners since 2017 and has been practicing as a nurse practitioner for nine years. Samantha’s professional background includes two years at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, where she worked in the Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy Department as a hospitalist. She then spent five and a half years with UMC Physicians in Lubbock, Texas, working at Kingspark Urgent Care. She joined the Jal Clinic in June 2025 and is proud to now serve the Jal community. Although Samantha enjoys caring for patients of all ages, pediatrics holds a special place in her heart. Her approach to care is rooted in treating every patient like family — a philosophy that fits naturally in a close-knit, small-town clinic setting. She believes strongly in building relationships with her patients, listening to their concerns, and working together to create care plans that support both comfort and long-term health. Samantha hopes that every patient feels cared for, supported, and truly heard — as if they are seeing a trusted friend or family member who is genuinely invested in their well-being. She is known for going the extra mile to ensure her patients receive the best possible care and are actively involved in their own health decisions. Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Samantha chose a career in healthcare because it felt like a natural calling — and a family tradition. She is grateful to be part of the Jal Hospital District and honored to care for the community she serves.

Education and Training
- NMSU 2000 – BSN
- TTUHSC 2008 – MSN-FNP
- Board Certification – ANCC Family Nurse Practitioner
Professional Background
I have practiced as a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner since 2008. Prior to that, I worked as an emergency room registered nurse from 2000 to 2008. Before joining the Jal Clinic, I managed and operated a mobile clinic for Permian Regional Medical Center. I do not limit my practice to a specific specialty; instead, I value the opportunity to care for a diverse range of patients and conditions across the lifespan.
Philosophy and Approach
My approach to patient care is grounded in shared decision-making. I believe in partnering with patients by listening carefully to their concerns, providing information, and involving them in every step of the decision process. This collaborative approach helps ensure care plans align with each patient’s values, goals, and individual needs.
I hope patients feel comfortable, respected, and heard when they see me. My goal is for them to feel safe asking questions, confident that their concerns are taken seriously, and reassured that we are working together toward their best possible health outcomes.
Personal Touch
I have spent most of my life living on a ranch outside of Jal, New Mexico, and this experience has shaped my strong connection to the Jal Hospital District and the surrounding communities.
