BRANDY GOOSS, FNP-C
FAMILY CARE
Education and Training
NMSU 2000 BSN
TTUHSC 2008 MSN-FNP
Board Certification ANCC Family Nurse Practitioner
Professional Background
I have practiced as a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner since 2008. Prior to that, I worked as an
emergency room registered nurse from 2000 to 2008. Before joining the Jal Clinic, I managed
and operated a mobile clinic for Permian Regional Medical Center. I do not limit my practice to a
specific specialty; instead, I value the opportunity to care for a diverse range of patients and
conditions across the lifespan.
Philosophy and Approach
My approach to patient care is grounded in shared decision-making. I believe in partnering with
patients by listening carefully to their concerns, providing information, and involving them in
every step of the decision process. This collaborative approach helps ensure care plans align
with each patient’s values, goals, and individual needs.
I hope patients feel comfortable, respected, and heard when they see me. My goal is for them to
feel safe asking questions, confident that their concerns are taken seriously, and reassured that
we are working together toward their best possible health outcomes.
Personal Touch
I have spent most of my life living on a ranch outside of Jal, New Mexico, and this experience has
shaped my strong connection to the Jal Hospital District and the surrounding communities.

background allows him to approach patient care with strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and
a calm, thoughtful presence—particularly when managing complex or chronic conditions.
Jim believes in patient-centered care built on trust, communication, and long-term relationships.
He strives to ensure that patients feel heard, supported, and confident in their care, whether
addressing preventive health needs or managing ongoing medical concerns.
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jim chose a career in healthcare early in life after
discovering a passion for medical education, critical thinking, and helping patients through some
of their most difficult moments. He joined Jal Hospital District 10 years ago and values the
close-knit community, meaningful patient relationships, and the opportunity to provide
continuity of care beyond the fast-paced environment of emergency medicine.
Jim is married to Brandy Gooss, who is also a Primary Care Provider at the Jal Clinic. Brandy
